Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer

Job Purpose: The purpose for this position is to conceptualize, develop, position and market new products for 2Checkout.com.

Goals and Objectives: The Manager, Product Management & Marketing will structure our products and services by outlining features and benefits, core functionality and value proposition in our competitive space. Specifically, the position will:

  • Define a product strategy and technology development roadmap and manage the entire product lifecycle.
  • Work with internal parties to develop functionality and external parties for feature enhancements.
  • Deliver deep expertise on the product and its position in the market and those of competitors.
  • Support sales and marketing with value proposition messaging.
  • Test our products in a live environment to improve functionality and cost effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership to multiple functions in the organization with respect to assigned products.

Reporting Relationships: This position currently has no direct reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Manager, Product Management & Marketing is the primary owner of a selection of products or services assigned by the company.
  • This position will assess competitive benchmarking to ensure success
  • Lead research initiatives on product functionality and feature gaps that will improve utilization and satisfaction to our customer base
  • Lead requirements documentation and feature mapping exercises
  • Liaison between operations and product development for functional improvements
  • Liaison with sales and marketing for product feedback from customers
  • Maintain expertise on the product and our competitive sets matching products  
  • Deliver value proposition messaging to keep the product current and relevant to the target audience
  • Evaluate pricing for products and services.
  • Deliver monthly revenue forecasts for products.
  • Develop materials, white papers and research to improve product positioning for sales and marketing. Work with Brand Communications for Public Relations.
  • Conceptualize and develop business cases for new products to further our penetration in the market. Key Technical

  • Product penetration in the market and relative market share is a reflection of positioning and management skills.
  • Completing product development projects on time and on budget.
  • Introduction of new products and services and incremental revenue gains.

Job Fit:

  • This position may require some light travel, no more than 5-10%.
  • Successful candidates will be able to engage prospects and “evangelize” our brand at trade shows and events in a booth.
  • This position may require analytical skills and skills in Excel to build financial models to assess fit for a proposed solution to a customer or the organization.
  • This position will manage potentially conflicting technology priorities and disparate departments in the organization in competition for resources.
  • This position is highly visible and may need to accelerate through a learning curve while others in the organization have superior product knowledge.

  • Successful product managers may grow into positions to lead other product analysts, marketing interns and or a product development department.
