Manta Unveils New Site Design and Launches New Business Select

June 18, 2010

Manta, the largest source of information on and for small businesses, with almost 64 million business profiles, announced today a new website design offering users a more seamless, easy-to-navigate experience and integrated tools that allow business owners to make connections directly with one another. In addition to the robust network of information already available, Manta unveils its New Business Select feature that provides subscribers with information on brand new businesses--gathered from city, state, and national sources--which is made available in weekly updates after these companies file for licenses and/or register their business.

The new site design maintains the access to company information and relevant news that users have come to love, while improving the experience with a cleaner layout and easier navigation. Manta’s emerging B2B community also becomes more prominent with new tools that allow businesses to interact with one another.

In addition to the new look and feel of the site, Manta now offers the ability to access information about new businesses shortly after they are created.

New Business Select automatically collects information about new businesses from municipalities across the country. Every new business becomes a part of the database and is available for the business owner to claim, edit and update with additional information. It offers these businesses an opportunity to begin to promote themselves and connect with other business owners. New Business Select allows for those businesses to be easily found by date started, location, industry and, when available, revenue, social media profile and much more. The data is presented as either a list or a chart illustrating the number of new companies started in a set period of time, so users can easily see the trends in new business creation over time.

With new businesses being added to Manta shortly after they file, it also makes it easy for advertisers and marketers to reach those businesses before key purchasing decisions are made. Businesses can be easily targeted with special offers and deals that are most interesting and relevant to their needs.

"We started working on this site design over a year ago with the goal of improving the user experience and highlighting the burgeoning B2B community, while maintaining the access to information that Manta users expect," said Pamela Springer, Manta president and CEO. "New Business Select continues to improve the information we have available by ensuring the newest companies are available on our site often within a week of filing. This means that business owners get exposure to potential customers and that partners can find them right away."

All visitors to the site can access new business charts to view the growth of new companies by industry or location while New Business Select subscribers have access to quickly view information on these newly formed companies–including company names, addresses, phone numbers, contact(s), industry and even more when available.
