Minimally Invasive Devices Raises $2M in Series B Financing

October 15, 2009

Minimally Invasive Devices LLC (MID) has procured $2 million in Series B funding.  Charter Life Sciences led the round, joined by Reservoir Partners.

The Columbus-based medical device startup developed the FloShield, a device for keeping the end of laparoscopic surgical instruments clean.  FloShield had a pilot launch in February.  “We’re now preparing for a general launch in the US and are in talks with international distributors,” says Wayne Poll, MID’s CEO.

Poll says the funding will be used for further product development and will take the company to cash-flow break-even.
