Nationwide Children’s CEO Elected Chairman of TechColumbus Board

December 17, 2009

Steve Allen, MD and CEO of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, has been elected Chairman of the Board for TechColumbus.  “Steve Allen is an excellent choice to lead our board,” says Ted Ford, chairman and CEO of TechColumbus.  “Under his direction, we will continue to expand our work to grow the Central Ohio tech economy and the high wage jobs it will produce.”

Allen succeeds Jay Jordan, CEO of OCLC, who has served as TechColumbus Chairman of the Board since the organization was founded in 2005.  “Jay Jordan provided outstanding leadership in our formative years,” says Ted Ford, president and CEO of TechColumbus.  “We wouldn’t be where we are today without his steady leadership.”

Other TechColumbus board officers include Dwight Smith, vice chair, Alan Cullop, secretary and Rhonda DeMuth, treasurer.

Jordan will remain a board member.  In further action, the TechColumbus board elected two new members. Bob Irwin, CEO of Sterling Commerce, the e-commerce division of AT&T, Inc. and Ray Shealy, former CEO of HTP, Inc., a Columbus startup that was acquired in 2008 by RelayHealth, a McKesson company, will join the 15-member board.
