Columbus-based Navigator Management Partners has been recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Great Places to Work Institute (GPTW) as one of the top companies in the nation for using “best practices” in people management strategies. Citing that small and medium-sized companies make up the majority of the American economy and workforce, SHRM/GPTW recognized the top 25 small and top 25 medium companies to work for. Navigator Management was ranked 12th among the 25 top small companies.
“These companies stand out because their employees find them to be places where they can trust the management, take pride in their work and have fun,” says GPTW co-founder Rober Levering. “Other companies have much to learn about how to be productive and do right by their people.”
“Part of our strategy to recruit and retain those able to deliver [our] standards is to offer a truly great employment experience,” says David Schoettmer, Navigator Management Partners CEO. “We are happy and honored to have achieved this recognition from SHRM/GPTW, but we are even happier about the caliber of our workforce.”
In a related story, Navigator Management Partners ranked 8th on the Inner City 100 list of fastest growing companies. The list is compiled by the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City and BusinessWeek SmallBiz magazine. The objective of the program is to show how the advantages of inner cities – such as a diverse workforce and strategic location – can combine to create explosive growth.
