Dublin’s Neoprobe Corp. announced the signing of a biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing agreement with Laureate Pharma, Inc (New Jersey) for the manufacture of the company’s RIGScan CR drug. RIGScan CR is a tumor-specific targeting agent for detecting colorectal cancer.
“Laureate Pharma has an established track record in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, including capabilities in both clinical and commercial grade materials,” says David Bupp, president and CEO of Neoprobe. “This agreement will allow us to leverage Laureate’s expertise and infrastructure while we seek to establish RIGScan CR as an improvement to the treatment for colorectal cancer.”
“We will work closely in partnership with the Neoprobe biotech team and assist them in driving their product from development into the clinic,” says Robert J. Broeze, PhD, president and CEO of Laureate Pharma.
Neorpobe develops and commercializes biomedical products for diagnosing and treating cancer through gamma detection devices paired with tracing agents. The company has several technologies under development including Lymphoseek, a targeting agent used in breast tumor surgical treatment.
