Our IT Infrastructure department is seeking a Network Engineer to build and maintain the IGS Energy LAN/WAN technology infrastructure, including Cisco routers, firewalls, switches, wireless networking, carrier access, network security technologies, and related systems.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Partner with appropriate IT groups, administrative departments, and outside vendors in order to assure the effective management of the company’s technology assets.
- Establish and enforce LAN/WAN security policies, including regular vulnerability assessments.
- Oversee and ensure effectiveness of all network infrastructure components, and associated ancillary systems and software.
- Coordinate upgrade schedules with internal/external partners and serve as project lead with regard to budgeting, design, implementation, and post implementation support.
- Manage the design, implementation, and on-going support for all LAN/WAN networking technologies.
- Ensure uninterrupted network services supporting all IGS technology infrastructure.
- Build and implement project plans for infrastructure and related enterprise software and hardware implementations, on-going monitoring, capacity planning, support, and upgrades.
- Continue to stay abreast of new technologies within the industry, and evaluate the applicability of those technologies within the company’s environment.
- Act as the liaison between IGS and certified vendors to research and recommend network technology solutions.
Minimum Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology Management, Engineering, or other related area of study.
- Minimum of 5 years of infrastructure technical experience, with at least 3 years managing network infrastructure.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in implementing leading-edge infrastructure technologies.
- Professional certifications within infrastructure-related areas, while not a minimum requirement, would be highly desirable.
