Bricker & Eckler seeks a dynamic Network Engineer that will be accountable for the availability and security of the network infrastructure at the main office and the two satellite offices.
Primary duties:
1. Participate in the research, design and implementation of strategic upgrades to the firm’s technical infrastructure
2. Engineer and implement enhancements to the firm’s technical Disaster Recovery solution according to established metrics
3. Manage, maintain and ensure high and secure availability of LAN and connectivity across main and satellite offices. This includes enhancing network as new technology emerges, monitoring performance and security and diagnosis and resolution of issues
4. Administer and manage all servers, backups, security firewalls and wireless network
5. Configure, rack and stack servers that are required to support new software applications
6. Provide Level 2 support for complex support requests related to the IT infrastructure
Required Skills and experiences:
The successful candidate will have the following demonstrable skills and experiences in the following areas:
1. 5+ Years experience in network design, implementation and support
2. CISCO Routers and Switches
3. SAN – EqualLogic and EMC Clariion
4. Disaster Recovery
5. Windows Server 2003
6. AD 2003, 2008 R2
7. Linux and Linux Firewalls
8. Remote Access
9. Backup technology (ie: Backup Exec)
10. VPN technology (CISCO and Microsoft)
Desirable skills and experiences:
1. Migration from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010
2. Migration from AD 2003 to AD 2008 R2
3. MPLS technology
4. WAN optimization and wireless technologies
5. Server virtualization
Education:
1. One or more of the following certifications: MCSE, MCSA, CompTIA A+
2. One or more CISCO certifications: CCNA, CCDP, CCDP, CCNP, CCVP
3. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is a plus
