There’s a famous Korean proverb that goes, “The person who knows himself and his opponent will be invincible. Carve a peg only after you have observed the hole." An application for that wisdom can be seen in Battelle’s ongoing, strategic effort to continually improve the positioning of its spinoff company International Scientific Standard (ISS), not only in the South Korean but the wider Asian market.
The company continues to grow via a transition at the chief executive officer level. After a two-year commitment to set up a world-class good laboratory practice (GLP) operations to serve the Korean and global biopharma industry, the planned transition from President and CEO Mr. Victor Moore to Dr. Youngshin Lee took effect Sept. 6.
“Youngshin comes to us from a very impressive background in international/multinational companies, where she has an established track record in delivering a high level of client satisfaction and scientific excellence,” said Barbara Kunz, Battelle’s President of Health and Life Sciences Global Business. Battelle continues to have a strong commitment to supporting the innovation agendas for health and life sciences industry in Korea.
Mr. Moore was highly successful in building the company into a professional contract research and development organization. Dr. Lee now will guide ISS into a world-renowned company providing various high level quality services including bioequivalence and clinical sample analysis and delivering greater speed in time to market. ISS offers a full suite of services to support drug discovery and development, including preclinical toxicology, biomarkers services, biologics analysis, and drug delivery technologies, offered through the Battelle laboratories.
