NIEM and What it Means to Public Safety Agencies (Public Sector)

Individual public safety agencies play a critical role in the success of local, state, regional and federal data sharing and intelligence efforts. The National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) framework provides a common language by which to communicate this information, enabling agencies to share and receive critical information with other public safety agencies, enhance decision making capabilities; and benefit from federal and state grant funding opportunities.  In this 30-minute session, Sypherlink's Jim Pingel will describe:

  • The status of the NIEM standard and where it’s headed;
  • Why NIEM is here to stay;
  • Where NIEM has been successful; and
  • How NIEM can protect existing technology investments – and provide.
