Nominations are now being accepted for the annual Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards program. The awards recognize the men and women who put everything on the line in order to translate an idea into a viable, sustainable enterprise. A nominee can be the founder, president or chief executive officer of a private or public company who is primarily responsible for the recent performance of the company and is an active member of top management. The nominee's company must be at least three years old.
Selection of winners is first done on a regional basis. Entrepreneurs from the Columbus Region compete in the South Central Ohio and Kentucky region. Regional winners will be announced at a gala event in Cincinnati next June. Several entrepreneurs from Central Ohio have received this honor in the past including among others, Ray Bohac of CallCopy, Christopher Irion of e-Cycle, Pam Springer of Manta and Cindy Monroe of Thirty-One Gifts.
Nominations deadline is March 9, 2012.
