Ohio Ranked Among America’s Top CyberStates

Although experiencing some of the same challenges as other states, Ohio’s high tech sector shows promise in key indicators -this according to the recently published Cyberstates 2009 report from the American Electronics Association. With 159,860 workers within the high tech sector in 2007, Ohio ranked 14^th in the nation in terms of high tech employment (the state ranked 15^th in last year’s report). This represented an increase of 4660 jobs over 2006 data and was the 6^th largest gain in the nation. The state increased its number of high tech establishments by 378 from year to year and ranked 12^th in the nation for this index.
