Although experiencing some of the same challenges as other states, Ohio’s high tech sector shows promise in key indicators -this according to the recently published Cyberstates 2009 report from the American Electronics Association. With 159,860 workers within the high tech sector in 2007, Ohio ranked 14th in the nation in terms of high tech employment (the state ranked 15th in last year’s report). This represented an increase of 4660 jobs over 2006 data and was the 6th largest gain in the nation. The state increased its number of high tech establishments by 378 from year to year and ranked 12th in the nation for this index.
