OhioHealth and OCLC Named to ComputerWorld’s Best Places to Work in IT

June 24, 2011

Central Ohio companies have once again made a strong showing on ComputerWorld’s   annual list of 100 Best Places to Work in IT.  Both OhioHealth and OCLC made the 2011 list.

Ranked 21, OhioHealth was lauded for allowing its IT employees to work with the latest mobile communications and telemedicine technologies. The IT team manages ORBMobile, an application that provides physicians with lab, imaging and other clinical results on their smartphones, and a Stroke Network that connects physicians and nurses in rural hospitals with critical-care nurses and neurologists in Columbus for timely assessment, diagnosis and treatment.

OCLC made the list at number 33 primarily for the numerous benefits IT workers enjoy at the nonprofit computer library service and research organization headquartered in Dublin.  The company offers an array of scheduling options, including flexible hours, compressed work weeks, reduced work hours, job sharing and telecommuting. Work/life balance perks include a dry cleaning service, concierge services, postage and shipping services, an onsite ATM and discounts from local business and entertainment venues. OCLC also offers three retirement programs.
