“The facts are clear, the investment is working,” says OSU President E. Gordon Gee in regards to the Ohio Third Frontier. University Trustees and Gee released statements endorsing the passage of State Issue 1, the initiative that, if passed by voters in May, will extend the Third Frontier by $700 million over four years.
During the last seven years, as a result of Ohio Third Frontier support, OSU has teamed with more than 200 businesses and industry partners and a number of other Ohio universities to:
The Ohio General Assembly supported placement of Issue 1 on the May 2010 ballot as a constitutional amendment. Now voters will decide if the program, initially launched in 2002 and credited with generating $6.6 billion in economic activity and upwards of 48,000 jobs, will be extended.
“The Third Frontier program has become a national model for public-private partnerships that transform research into results and enterprise into employment,” says Gee.
