OSU-Licensed Technology Receives IND Acceptance by the FDA

April 10, 2009

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has accepted an OSU-licensed cancer therapeutic (AR-42) as an Investigational New Drug (IND).  OSU licensed the therapeutic to Arno Therapeutics, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on oncology therapeutics.   Arno applied for acceptance by the FDA for AR-42.

AR-42 is an orally available, novel, potent, small molecule that is a targeted histone deacetylase inhibitor used in cancer treatments.  In pre-clinical studies, AR-42 has demonstrated greater potency and a competitive profile in tumors in comparison to leading marketed therapeutics of its kind.
