People’s Choice Award Just One of the Newest Additions Planned for Upcoming Innovation Awards

The 2010 Innovation Awards are just three weeks away and organizers report many new and exciting features for the annual awards ceremony that shines a light on Central Ohio’s best and the brightest innovators, inventors, executives and entrepreneurs. 

Starting with a new location – for the first time, the awards will be held in the new Battelle Hall at the Columbus Convention Center.  Battelle Hall is a state-of-the-art facility befitting this celebration of ingenuity and inspiration in our region.  

The event will also feature a new People’s Choice video award which the public can vote on by going to the 2010 Innovation Awards People’s Choice Video Award page and casting a vote for their favorite.  Semi-finalists have created one-minute videos about their product, service or innovation.  These best of the videos have been uploaded to Facebook public viewing and voting.  Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony. 

Also exciting, TechColumbus is releasing an iPhone/iPad app for the event.  The app, being developed by MobileXpeditions, will feature highlights on the semi-finalists, a map of the event venue and other key information to enhance interactivity that evening.  Availability and download information for the app will soon be posted on the TechColumbus Facebook page IA10 Tab.

Lastly, one lucky winner will receive a pair of free tickets to the event by participating in a Twitter contest. Contestants simply need to tweet why they want to come to the Innovation Awards in 140 characters or less and include the #IA10 hashtag. The person with the most tweets about the event using the hashtag will win the tickets.  The contest starts Monday, January 17, 2011 at 9:00 AM EST and concludes Friday, January 21, 2011 at 5PM EST.  Visit the TechColumbus Facebook page IA10 Tab for more details.
