The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) has announced details of fifth annual Summit on Sustainability & the Environment scheduled for October 11, 2011, from 10:30am to 4:30pm at COSI. The Summit is MORPC’s signature environmental conference in Central Ohio each year, developed to aid community leaders, businesses and individuals in going green.
Keynote speaker will be Amy Camacho, secretary of Environmental Sustainability and Land Management of the State of Puebla, Mexico, and managing director of Africam Safari wildlife conservation park.
The luncheon will include the second annual Sustainability Awards to recognize achievements in multiple categories of environmental stewardship. Workshops will be presented from Clean Fuels Ohio, U.S. Green Building Council Central Ohio Chapter, and the Central Ohio Greenways & Trails Forum.
A pre-event reception will be held on Oct. 10, 6-8 p.m. at the Wexner Center for the Arts.
