Program Helps Prepare Tomorrow’s Medical Researchers Today

January 20, 2011

In 2005, Nationwide Children’s Hospital launched a program aimed at encouraging STEM education in a real world setting.  Nationwide’s Mechanisms of Human Health and Disease is a fast-paced, in-depth program for serious science students interested in medicine or medical research. Students in the Mechanisms program investigate cancer and other disease topics with lectures from research experts.

Each year the program accepts approximately 20 students for the seven-week program.  At the end of the session, students present their research papers before friends, families, teachers and researchers at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Applications are now being accepted for the class of 2011. For more details, see the story as posted on the MICROHscope blog:  http://www.microhscope.com/?p=902
