Required Skills and Experience:

• 6 years of experience in a quality assurance and testing environment
• 3 years of experience in software development and/or quality engineering, including data-driven testing, white box test automation and system level testing
• 2 years of experience with SQL development and relational databases, including DB2 and Oracle
• 3 years of programming experience in Java or C++
• 3 years of experience with automation scripting languages such as JavaScript, Perl, Ruby and TCL
• 2 years of demonstrated structured system testing experience with multi-tiered and/or mainframe applications
• Ability to learn new applications and technologies quickly and independently
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle/methodologies and quality processes
• Experience with automation, including testing infrastructure design and development
• Extensive experience in automating all aspects of testing through a variety of tools
• Experience with release management processes/methodologies
• Technical ability to isolate issues in software and determine root cause
• Ability to understand complex integrated systems and derive test cases by reading technical design documents, requirements, architecture documents and workflows
• Ability to develop test plans, test cases, test procedures and test data requirements
• Ability to adjust priorities and adapt to various styles of project management and leadership
• Ability to take initiative and work constructively in a team environment, influencing other teams across a diverse organization
• Ability to mentor junior QA staff
• Exceptional analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills

The selected candidate will perform the following duties:   Act as a member of a dedicated QA team responsible for the design and implementation of functional testing for each system component and system tests for the solution as a whole;  Research and analyze the software requirements, technical and business workflows, and designs to define detailed test plans, test cases, test data and procedures;  Identify manual/automation testing opportunities through technical assessment of business requirements based on the application design and flow;  Identify and provide test coverage metrics by release;  Assist in execution of the overall test strategy that includes identification of test synergies for a release, thorough understanding of testing required based on business functionality and technical flow of the applications and automation of functional testing for non-GUI based components, including back-end processing and database verification through various mechanisms;  Design and build test frameworks as well as stand-alone test harness facilities that will be leveraged by the entire QA team, focused on providing significant test coverage through both automation and manual testing techniques, using coverage and quality metrics to improve QA;  Assist in maintenance of QA test environments, including test data, proactively recommending process, tools and infrastructure improvements;   Host test plan review meetings with project team members, including solution architect, project development lead and project manager;  Attend various technical design and review sessions in order to understand application requirements and potential testing issues, risks and/or conflicts;  Conduct all testing and quality assurance activities;  Provide input and recommendations to development lead, solution architect, release manager and project manager to improve the quality and assurance of the solution being developed;  Review and approve test cases, testing results and quality of bug tracking information.
