Registration Now Open for Electronic Health Records Incentive Programs

Healthcare systems and professionals can begin applying for incentives offered through Medicare and Medicaid for use of electronic health records (EHR).  Registration for the EHR program began January 3, 2011.  The program will provide incentive payments to eligible professionals, eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals as they adopt, implement, upgrade or demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHR technology. Candidates are encouraged to apply early in order to begin receiving these incentives at the earliest possible time.  It is currently projected that the first incentives will be paid starting in May of 2011.
