The Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced a new online training tool to help women entrepreneurs take advantage of contracting opportunities with the federal government. The online course, “Winning Federal Contracts: A Guide for Women Entrepreneurs,” is free and available at the SBA Web site.
The comprehensive training module includes a number of resources to help women register their business as being female-owned enterprises and helps women learn where and how to identify federal contracts opportunities. The SBA says it is committed to ensuring that at least 5 percent of federal contracts are filled by female-owned small businesses.
“Federal contracts can provide unique opportunities for women entrepreneurs and small business owners to grow their businesses and create jobs, particularly during these tough economic times,” says Karen Mills, SBA administrator.
For more details, see the story in The Charlotte Business Journal.
