The State of Ohio has announced awards for Central Ohio companies that will help them expand their businesses while creating and retaining jobs.
SCI Engineered Materials was awarded a $25,000 Rapid Outreach Grant that is expected to create 50 jobs and retain 25. SCI Engineered Materials, located in Columbus, is a primary supplier of the automotive, solar, and thin film battery industries.
Mettler-Toledo Inc. has been awarded a 40 percent Job Creation Tax Credit for a five-year term as a result of the company's expansion in Worthington. The value of the tax credit is estimated at $274,740 over the term, and the company would be required to maintain operations at the project site for eight years. Mettler-Toledo is a global manufacturer and marketer of precision instruments used in laboratory, industrial, and food retailing applications. This project includes a truck-to-rail project and several research and development projects, including a new software development, sensor, and scale project. The $1.2 million project is expected to create 25 jobs and retain 106 positions
Polymera, Inc. has been awarded a 45 percent Job Creation Tax Credits for a five-year term as a result of the company's new location in Licking County. The value of the tax credit is estimated at $33,550 over the term, and the company would be required to maintain operations at the project site for eight years. Polymera is a manufacturer of wood polymer composite materials, servicing the extrusion, injection molding, and compression molding industries. The $5.5 million project is expected to create 25 jobs.
