SciFinder Database Now Available for Smartphones

April 14, 2011

SciFinder, the subscription based research tool for chemists from Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), is now available to researchers on their smartphones though a mobile platform.  With no need to download a special app, the new SciFinder Mobile allows researchers to use web-enabled smartphones to access CAS databases.

CAS pioneered mobile access to substance information in 2005, with the first ever transmission of chemical structures to the BlackBerry.  Now SciFinder subscribers can review results and saved answer sets on-the-go.  SciFinder Mobile is not restricted by IP address or seats, and provides unlimited access to popular SciFinder features such as looking up and confirming properties of a chemical substance  and reviewing key publications and authored references.

For more details, see the release from CAS.
