The part of the SciTech campus that includes the TechColumbus headquarters and incubator has been certified as a Job Ready Site by the State of Ohio. The Job Ready Site, located on OSU’s West Campus at 1245 - 1305 Kinnear Road, has allowed for the development of more than 230,000 square feet of flexible office, laboratory, and test manufacturing space.
The Ohio Job Ready Site Certification program helps ensure potential investors and business owners that a property exceeds site selection standards and includes the attributes currently demanded by today’s corporations. Properties are strategically chosen for their ability to provide optimal infrastructure capabilities and attract economic-shifting investments, thus mitigating some of the risk and time involved in making commercial development decisions.
TechColumbus occupies 62,000 square feet on the SciTech campus and is currently incubating 28 of the region’s most promising startups including, among others, Traycer, MID, 3X and PlugSmart. The most recent addition is Venturi – the Monaco-based manufacturer of electric vehicles which chose the location as the headquarters for its North American operations, near OSU’s Center for Automotive Research. Other promising companies on the SciTech campus include Entrotech, Zyvex, etc.
For more on the certification, see the release from the state.
