5+ years of applicable Chemical Process Engineering experience in one or more of the following disciplines: o Equipment – Demonstrated experience selecting and modifying industrial process equipment, working with vendors to develop equipment specifications. o Process – Experience with heat/mass balance. o Instrumentation – Experience with industrial instrumentation, including sensor/digital signal collection. LabView experience preferred. o Materials – Experience working with Silicon, Quartz and/or Iodine Demonstrated experience and competence in specialized analytical software (MATLAB) or modeling software (FLUENT, ASPEN). Strong written and oral communication skills are a must.

Iosil Energy is an entrepreneurial startup at the forefront of renewable energy technology. Focused on the development of technologies to replace our dependence on fossil fuels, we have created a proprietary method for the purification of silicon used in solar cells. Our mission is to produce more efficient, more economical and more ecologically friendly processes in the creation of solar-grade silicon. We are establishing pilot plant operations in Columbus, Ohio and looking for energetic, innovative and ambitious engineers to help drive our growth. 

We are currently seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join our outstanding team.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform and oversee advanced process analysis including engineering calculations such as mass, energy, and flow balances and thermochemistry of reactions.

• Lead analysis of pilot-scale systems, relates the calculations to design and operating characteristics, and implements practical improvements.

•  Serve as subject matter expert in making approximations to get results of acceptable engineering accuracy.

•  Assess the quality and applicability of data based on familiarity with laboratory practice and data acquisition systems.

• Develop process flow diagrams and use diagrams to select or design process equipment. Make recommendations to attain technology scale-up goals.

• Innovate, modify and adapt standard techniques to achieve desired results.

• Work with technical team of scientists and engineers to review test results and develop scale-up relationships based on mathematical or empirical models.  

• Work with a team to assist in technology development.

• Provide technical guidance to more junior Chemical Process Engineers for assignments.

• Work closely with contractors who will be undertaking detailed plant design.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.

• 5+ years of applicable Chemical Process Engineering experience in one or more of the following disciplines:

o   Process – Experience with heat/mass balance.
