Senior ESX Engineer

Candidates will have experience in a cloud-like environment to possess the scope of knowledge required for this position. The migration tool Veeam has been selected as part of the migration strategy, so experience with it is highly desirable.

Location is in Dallas, TX.

High level position. 

8-5, M-F w/other hours/weekends required from time to time.

The primary technology we're searching for is Veeam - and utilized for server migration is our purpose. 

High-level VMware ESX engineer.  ESX platform support more than about building virtual machines on the platform.   

Position will support and maintain an existing ESX environment consisting of multiple vSphere 4.1 clusters and some ESX 3.5 clusters - totaling 37 ESX hosts.  Additional activities include support of a vSphere environment in a new datacenter.  During the next 6 months (approximate), the engineering group will support the migration of all servers in the current datacenter to the new datacenter.  Veeam is expected to be part of the migration strategy so experience with Veeam is required.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
- A strong working knowledge of VMware ESX/vSphere 4 in a highly-available architecture. The candidate must be able to perform routine VMware 4.1x duties using standard and approved interfaces along with the ability to move the environment forward with emerging technologies. Demonstrate working knowledge of VMware VSphere 4.x including routine management tasks, upgrades, and storage considerations.
- Must demonstrate and possess working knowledge of LAN/WAN environments
- Candidate must exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills in order to build a strong rapport and working relationship across groups to provide recommendations and expertise for project activities.
- Occasional after hour or weekend support is required.
- Light Travel may be required.
