Philip Eggers, founder and chief technology officer for Dublin-based medical development company CardioX, recently expressed his support of State Issue 1 in an Op-Ed printed in Columbus Business First. The following is a reprint of his “ViewPoint” submission.
"At stake, when Issue 1 goes before voters May 4, is the renewal of one of the most successful economic development initiatives the state has ever adopted with bipartisan support. One that has not only had a tremendous impact on Ohio and Ohioans, but one which other governments have modeled programs after for transforming their states into globally competitive, 21st Century economies.
Since its inception in 2002 through December 2009, the Ohio Third Frontier has been credited with helping create no less than 55,000 jobs and launching 637 new companies within the state. It has helped begin transitioning the state to an innovation-based economy and helped create an ecosystem where inventors and entrepreneurs can flourish.
But I’d like to bring this story a little closer to home – specifically home to Central Ohio.".
