Social Networking Startup Focuses on Small and Micro Businesses

November 18, 2011

Central Ohio serial entrepreneurs, Dave Hunegnaw and Brooke Paul, have announced the launch of the first ever social network site for small and micro businesses.  AboutOurWork.com not only gives small businesses the ability to create a web presence, but also to create meaningful connections with other businesses in the community.

"Existing social media and networking outlets have ignored micro and small businesses in favor of brands, job seekers and consumers," says Hunegnaw. "AboutOurWork provides the first social business network that lets these businesses create a web presence and connect with one another."

One of the unique features of the service is the AboutOurWork graph which provides users a “visualization” of a network.  Once a user creates a business profile, AboutOurWork collects information about the type and depth of a business’ connections.  It charts how often and how recently two businesses have worked together and from there, a user can quickly analyze these connections and find the path to connect with other businesses. This forms more meaningful connections than found in existing tools and resources, and shortens the time to trust for new business partners.

AboutOurWork is free and open to all small and micro business owners.
