| Description | PN: 20066419 Pay Range: 33 Salary: Job Duties: Acts as Division lead researcher on highway safety related issues; designs and conducts research studies on highway safety related programs and processes; conducts statistical analysis of highway safety data, including but not limited to, crash reports, impaired driving, driver training, seat belt use, and related data; oversees Division contracted research; maintains knowledge of current topics and research methods related to highway safety. Conducts program evaluations and analyzes performance data from Division grantees and contractors; identifies evidence-based programs and practices for improved highway safety and related goals; serves as subject matter expert in Division review of applications for funding, contract work, or safety proposals; helps establish performance goals for funded programs and contractors; monitors programmatic performance of funded programs and contractors. Assists in the preparation of Ohio’s annual Traffic Safety Action Plan and the Annual Evaluation Report by providing required data elements and narrative descriptions (e.g. crash trend data), suggests appropriate safety countermeasures, assists in establishing program goals; assists in review of the Division’s and local jurisdictions’ safety plans, and provides technical advice regarding federal research and evaluation-related compliance requirements and model safety programs. Collaborates with Policy and Research Section staff in designing and conducting the Division’s research and evaluation projects; writes research and evaluation reports and statistical analyses; makes presentations of research and evaluation findings; provides data and information for the Division website; participates in setting the Division’s overall research agenda; represents the Division in meetings with constituent groups; answers information requests and provides technical assistance; performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Deputy Director, or supervisor.
