A bachelors degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering etc.) preferred or equivalent professional experience.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8+ years of Information Technology DBA implementation and support experience

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server

• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems

• Extensive knowledge in DB design, clustering, replication, disaster recovery, etc.

• Working knowledge in Load Balancing, storage technologies (SAN and NAS) and Networking

• IT support in the financial industry is preferred

• ITIL experience preferred

• Microsoft certification is a plus.

The SQL DBA provides technical expertise within a team focused on database engineering, implementation, service delivery and support in an Investment & Advisory delivery team. The DBA ensures that all aspects of operability are delivered as part of the implementation process while ensuring that existing service levels are maintained or improved. The DBA ensures compliance to operational standards, procedures and best practices. The role closely liaisons with various operational, project, development and product teams as well the service. Duties: • Function in a lead technical role for implementation and support of databases. • Engineer database solutions in the support of business critical projects • Review, create and contribute to design documents • Collaborate with development teams on system design and serviceability • Mentor DBAs and help raise the technical knowledge in the team • Schedule and implement database changes while partnering with application support and development teams • Ensure that appropriate documentation and training is delivered to 1st Level (RunBook and Work Instructions) • Participates in ITIL processes – incident / problem management, change management, release management, etc. • Works out of hours, when appropriate, to support major implementations or to react to high priority service issues
