This individual will work with others and possibly lead a team of development staff utilizing Delphi / Java software connected to a relational data base. The role will encompass supporting the lifecycle development of applications.
The current initiative involves concurrent upgrades to existing Delphi programming in concert with developing a new platform application in JAVA. The individual will work on the existingDelphi application and do new development on the Java platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow structured software development process, design, develop and test algorithms, screens and processes using Delphi5/Java6 software and Oracle 11i or DB2 relational database.
- Develop, design and create Business Intelligence reporting processes.
- Create technical and user documentation.
- Create useful and application supportive help documentation and screens geared to novice end user needs.
- Assist with the system and user acceptance testing of the final product, making changes as directed or appropriate.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
- Five years experience with Delphi programming and development as a senior programmer analyst
- Five years experience with Java programming and development as a senior programmer analyst
- Three years experience programming using relational databases (i.e., Oracle 11i or DB2) Experience in the designing and setting-up relational data bases, manipulating relational data, file structures and creating data models
- Five years experience in gathering, translating and documenting program specifications and design requirements
- Three years experience performing structured unit and/or system testing
- Ability to translate documented or discovered business requirements into system design document(s) and program same in Delphi/Java
- Possess senior level software design and development programming skills
- Advanced knowledge of structured system lifecycle development processes and techniques
- Experience creating technical and user documentation according to standards
- Experience designing and developing enterprise business reports
- Experience using office automation tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Visio, Microsoft Office and other office tool sets
- Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently with or without formalized requirements documents
- Three years experience in object oriented programming techniques
- Three years experience as a development team / project lead
- Two years experience converting legacy client or web applications to new web application technology
- Completion of associate degree program or undergraduate core program in computer science
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language.
This is a long term contract position. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's relevant experience and skills.
