STAN Solutions – A Friend to the Soldier

Military field communication was lacking when Stan Harriman, a Special Forces officer, was killed by friendly fire in Iraq. His death was the inspiration behind STAN Solutions—with a mission is to develop a network and satellite communication system for the military. This system provides critical information to soldiers on the ground and offers greater “standoff” from dangerous situations.
Military and Homeland Security Applications
STAN Solutions, founded in 2002 by Tony Manuel, is a proven, award-winning, and innovative leader in network systems and sensor technologies. STAN Solutions specializes in military and homeland security applications.
After developing and implementing long-range communication network systems for the military in Iraq and Afghanistan, STAN Solutions now supports these systems with the addition of video and sensor technology.
TechColumbus and Central Ohio Growth
Tony Manuel believes that organizations such as TechColumbus “open opportunities for all and allow more success for everyone” by helping professionals to connect.
Tony also sees a great potential for Central Ohio in the training and development of such a skilled workforce—this could potentially bring $15 to $25 billion to the economy in the next several years. He encourages working with local universities to cross-train experts in the fields of engineering, electronics, computer science, and construction.
Military Partner
By providing “network-centric” communication to link all field assets in a common global communication network, soldiers are empowered in the field with better information and control. This has helped STAN Solutions evolve into one of the U.S. military’s major contributing partners throughout Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The STAN Solutions team engineers and builds communication devices to be carried by all levels of military personnel as well as critical components for military vehicles. STAN Solutions provides training and support to military personnel in the field.
