The Ohio State Controlling Board approved $9.2 million in economic development grants to support expansion in organizations across the state. Nearly $4 million of this was awarded to Central Ohio companies and municipalities in support of a number of initiatives associated with facilities expansion, the acquisition of new machinery and equipment, and infrastructure improvements. Central Ohio recipients include:
The Village of New Albany -- $2 million Roadwork Development Grant to complete improvements in support of the development of the New Albany Business Park and Innovation Campus IV. New Albany was also awarded $250,000 to support the development of a data center for TJX Companies which is expected to create 28 jobs in the village.
The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) -- will receive a $227,494 Roadwork Development Grant for infrastructure improvements that will allow access to SWACO’s Green Energy Center.
Eddie Bauer LLC -- $75,000 for an expansion project in Groveport expected to create 325 jobs and retain 352.
Engineering Mechanics Corporation of Columbus - $20,000 for an expansion project in Upper Arlington expected to create 10 jobs and retain 12.
GENCO I, Inc. -- $60,000 for acquisition of new machinery and company in Groveport which will create 80 jobs.
JPMorgan Chase Bank -- $1.15 million to support expansion at multiple sites in Columbus and Westerville expected to create 1,150 jobs and retain 14,013.
La Senza, Inc. -- $15,000 for a building improvement and expansion project in Columbus expected to create 80 jobs.
NGL Warehouse, LLC -- $15,000 for leasehold improvements to its facility in Lockbourne which will create 31 jobs and retain 45.
The Miller Cabinet Company, LLC -- $40,000 for an expansion project in Union County that will create 53 new jobs and retain 27.
