State Science Day Judges Needed

April 8, 2010

The Ohio Academy of Science has issued a call for volunteers who would be interested in serving as judges for its annual State Science Day. More than 1200 students, grades 5-12, from across the state will come together to vie for honors and prizes in this prestigious annual event.  Prizes, valued at nearly $2.3 million (college scholarships, trips, cash, publications and bonds) will be awarded to individuals and teams presenting projects in categories ranging from behavioral science to medicine; zoology to computer science and more.

“Being a State Science Day judge is very rewarding,” says Ted Ford, president and CEO of TechColumbus.  “It’s very encouraging to see the creativity and intellect alive within these students of today who will become our researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.”

State Science Day will be held May 8 at the OSU French Field House from approximately 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. For complete details and to register as a judge, visit their website
