Preferable Qualifications & Experience: 5+ years experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting a Storage Area Network infrastructure including Fibre Channel Protocol, installing/zoning SAN attached devices, Cisco MDS and NetApp and EMC storage arrays. 5+ years experience with provisioning of LUNs and Volumes to Windows hosts particularly with Microsoft Clustering Services and SQL servers 5+ years experience with provisioning of LUNs and Volumes to VMware infrastructure 5+ years working with NetApp software including Operations Manager, Protection Manager, Open Systems Snapvault, Snap Manager for Virtual Infrastructure, Snap Manager for SQL and Snap Mirror/Vault. 5+ years experience with performance tuning and understanding of SQL database I/O characteristics. 5+ years experience with Enterprise Backup 7+ years demonstrated ability to complete work within scope and on schedule under pressure of deadlines. 7+ years experience with MS Windows. 7+ years experience with high availability implementation including clustering, replication technologies and disaster recovery strategies.

Description

Location: Seattle, WA

Role & Responsibilities:
Designing and managing all aspects of the storage infrastructure, which includes Direct Attached Storage, Storage Area Network and the fabric, and Network Attached Storage.
Summary of key responsibilities:
Administer the IT Storage infrastructure including provisioning of LUNs and Volumes to Windows hosts and VMware infrastructure, track disk utilization, resolve performance issues and supporting backup and restore operations.

Administer the Storage Area Network including managing and maintenance of the SAN fabric from host connectivity to the disk storage.

Create and maintain documentation as it pertains to the storage infrastructure procedures and configuration.

Support with monitoring and reporting of system health/performance of all nodes of the SAN fabric.

Design and build highly scalable storage systems with an emphasis on high availability and redundancy.

Report on necessary recommendations for additional storage resources or hardware and any improvements that increases performance and reliability.

Review literature and current practices to ensure the technology is kept up-to-date and reports on any new/emerging technology that may aid the business.

Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation with some night and weekend work.  Some travel may be required to accomplish projects.
