Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with four or more years of enterprise Windows server administrator experience preferred.

Experience
  • One to two years of patch management responsibilities in a medium or large business environment.
  • One to two years application development experience.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve difficult problems with little or no supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills.
  • Excellent reasoning and problem solving skills.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills.
  • Four or more years experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
  • Current or pursuing a certification as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
  • One or two years experience with Microsoft System Center technologies (SCCM, SCOM, etc.).
  • One to two years experience designing and architecting infrastructure solutions.
  • One to two years experience in designing Microsoft applications in ASP.NET, VB.NET, C# or related technologies.
Description

This position is responsible for developing and plan strategic initiatives to meet enterprise needs in the following areas:

  • Windows Server systems, Internet Information Services (IIS) systems, and patch management for various applications.
  • Fully understand CLIENTS current infrastructure, business and culture in order to craft solutions and architectures that help fulfill an overall Information Technology strategy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop Windows Server operating system strategy and direction, including builds, components, migrations, security and best practices. Focus on improving uptime and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems involving operating systems and their components as well as IIS applications.
    Develop Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) strategy and direction, including standard builds, interoperability with .NET frameworks, roles and responsibilities, and other best practices.
  • Create the high-level technical design and oversee detailed technical designs and assist with the resolution of design-related issues of areas of responsibility.
  • Develop a patch management program for security updates of the operating system and other applications in the environment, such as Adobe Flash, .NET Framework, SQL Server, etc. by working closely with various groups within the company (Help Desk, Operations, Security, Application Development).
  • Develop a patch cycle to facilitate the application of all standard patch releases based on availability, criticality of servers and the patches themselves.
  • Understand how architectural decisions and emerging technology choices are affected by CLIENTS business and culture.
  • Present ideas related to infrastructure, application and business stakeholders using tools like Microsoft Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
