Required Qualifications:
- One year of experience in development and support of scientific/engineering applications and programming models;
- Understanding of application build process & best practices;
- Knowledge of (SVN) administration and use;
- One year of experience with UNIX, FORTRAN, C/C++, Python and Perl;
- One year of experience with software refactoring.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with commercial and/or open source engineering software applications for finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, structural analysis and multi-physics analysis is highly desired.
- One year of experience with build and release process;
- One year of experience managing large software development projects;
- One year of experience with build and configuration management of open source components;
- One year of experience with code documentation techniques;
- One year of high performance computing experience including Message Passing Interface (MPI);
- One year of experience with parallel performance analysis tools & parallel debuggers.

| Description |
- Provides technical support to the Center's user community by providing software management services;
- Interfaces with faculty, research staff, post-doctoral and graduate students, and commercial users to train, develop, optimize, and maintain software used by various scientific/engineering domains;
- Trains individual and groups through preparation and presentation of seminars regarding software capabilities and use cases;
- Develops tools and processes, including build and release for user software within the HPC environment;
- Participates in the optimization of software utilizing the centers' HPC resources;
- Executes best practices to maintain software through documentation and source code control (e.g., Subversion (SVN);
- Assists the Director of User Services in the tracking, evaluation, and improvement of communities software use at the center.
