Description

The Systems Engineering Manager leads a team that is responsible for the three key facets of Cranel’s customer facing technology services in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) space.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Pre-Sales Support
  • Function as single point of contact for the Cranel sales organization to qualify and prioritize customer opportunities for Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution sales and associated professional services
  • Facilitate bringing the appropriate resources to work an opportunity. Resources may be Cranel Systems Engineers (SE’s) and/or ECM suppliers. Resources will be leveraged to provide software demonstrations, conduct product road map sessions, conduct design sessions, estimate effort, develop proposals, create statements of work, and more.
  • Ensure that all pre-sales activities are conducted in a manner consistent with Cranel’s channel commitments.
  • Provide professional services pipeline forecasts to Cranel management team Implementation Support
  • Support Cranel’s channel customers by delivering ECM systems implementations on their behalf.
  • Own Cranel’s project methodology to deliver on time, on budget and high-quality solutions.
  • Manage project resources (Cranel SE’s or third party) that are deployed to implement an ECM solution
  • Engage additional project management resources (Cranel PM’s or third party) as needed based on demand.
  • Manage project scope
  • Manage project communications
  • Ensure quality completion of all project deliverables
  • Manage project financials and ensure proper accounting and billing in Cranel’s systems Post-Sales Customer Support
  • Work with Cranel’s Customer Support Center to ensure SE resources address customer support issues with utmost priority
  • Work in close collaboration with Customer Support Center Manager to ensure knowledge transfer from Pre-Sales and Implementations to Post-Sales Support
  • Participate in and / or take the lead on the resolution of escalated ECM support cases

Core Job Functions:

  • Product Management / Supplier Relations

o  Work closely with Marketing Business Development Manager to stay in tune with ECM Market trends, report on relationships with ECM partners and assist with on boarding of new partners

o  Define and mature Cranel’s ECM service offerings

o  Build strong relationships with Cranel's ECM partners

o  Ensure that Cranel and ECM partners have well-defined contacts and processes for interaction

  • Sales engagement / Customer Relations

o  Travel with District Sales Managers (DSM's) quarterly to learn about customers' needs

o  Build knowledge of Systems Engineering (SE) capabilities and services within the Cranel sales force

o  Own the pricing of Cranel professional services and associated communication to the Cranel sales force.

  • Management

o  Hire and manage the team of Systems Engineers

o  Manage overall SE resource schedule to ensure Post-Sales Customer Support needs are always met

o  Own the training, skills development and certification plan for SE resources and manage to the plan o Own systems engineering metrics and utilize metrics to continuously improve upon team operations
