Kristi Tanner, a highly experienced economic development professional, has been named the new assistant director and chief operating officer of the Ohio Department of Development. Tanner will serve as the second in command in leading the department through its transition to the JobsOhio public-private partnership.
Tanner is the former marketing director for the Ohio Business Development Coalition where she marketed state initiatives such as Ohio's HiVelocity electronic magazine and Ohio Third Frontier, both of which work to support and grow Ohio's technology industry.
I am excited to have Kristi join our team," said Mark Kvamme, Director of the Ohio Department of Development. "Her intricate knowledge of the Department and marketing background will be instrumental as we begin to create JobsOhio, a public/private partnership for economic development. I couldn't think of a more well-qualified individual to help Ohio succeed."
A graduate of Morehead State University in Kentucky, Tanner earned a degree in Communications and Marketing. She is certified as an Economic Development Finance Professional through the National Development Council and serves as a member of Ohio's Development Finance Advisory Council.
