Taste of IT

Technology First invites you to participate in the 3rd Annual Taste of IT Forum.

This forum will model the success of previous years’ events, providing IT professionals throughout the Southwest Ohio area the opportunity to choose from a variety of IT presentations. The forum and presentations are designed so the region’s IT community can meet and interact.

The sessions are designed to address popular trends, future technologies, major initiatives and innovations in IT. These presentations are organized in three concurrent tracks, and topics are based on submissions from the Technology First members and the 52-member CIO Council. Attendees will be able to attend sessions from any track throughout the day.

Multiple representatives from 75 companies, including CIOs and key decision makers, attended last year’s event to learn about the latest IT topics and trends from the regions technology experts. Seminar participants will:
 

• Attend a group breakfast and lunch with keynote speakers
• Attend seven of twenty-one presentation sessions, and
• Visit the Exhibit Hall where you can speak directly to local IT companies

The agenda is still being finalized, but potential topics include:

• Cloud-based Computing, e. g., business intelligence, application streaming
• Collaboration tools, e. g., SharePoint, Web 2.0, WebSphere
• Virtualization, e. g., desktop, storage, server
• SAAS and issues surrounding economics, privacy, security, contracts, etc.
• Tight budget topics such as reducing costs, money saving tips, outsourcing, e.g., datacenter
• IT Governance, e. g., project portfolio management, KPIs
• BI topics such as data warehouse, data analytics, data mining tools
• Green IT, e. g., data center techniques and tools, workstation opportunities, power reduction, etc.
• Data Backup/Recovery/DRP including data de-duplication, business continuity
• Google Apps such as Chrome OS
• Windows Server 2008 R2
• Windows 7
• Social Networking topics for business such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter
• Skype in the Enterprise, audio and video
• Mobile Computing, e. g., mobile apps, Netbooks, smart phones
