TDCI Releases Guided Selling Software for Microsoft Dynamics® NAV

November 12, 2009

November 10, 2009 - Columbus, Ohio. BuyDesign® Channel Sales Provides Web-based Quoting, Proposal Generation, and Ordering Capabilities using Same Product Configurator Available as NAV Add-on. TDCI, Inc. (TDCI), the leading provider of configurator-based software solutions, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and ISV, announced today the immediate availability of BuyDesign Channel Sales integrated with the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. BuyDesign Channel Sales is a comprehensive guided selling software solution that enables companies to provide self-service quoting, proposal generation, and ordering capabilities for customized products to their dealers, distributors, sales representatives, and B2B customers.

BuyDesign Channel Sales can be deployed online or offline and utilizes the same BuyDesign product configurator that is integrated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV to provide users with highly intuitive and visual guided product selection and configuration based on product knowledge captured within BuyDesign product models. This enables companies to leverage the product configurator to support all sales channels, as well as engineering and manufacturing. Orders for configured and non-configured items placed using Channel Sales are automatically delivered into Microsoft Dynamics NAV for processing. BuyDesign for Microsoft Dynamics NAV is registered and available from Microsoft as an add-on for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 SP1 and Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009, including SP1. It works with the classic and the role-based client (RTC) user interface, and is available with the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Business Essentials, Advanced Management and Advanced Management Enterprise editions. Support for kitting is also available.

“As a strong guided selling solution, BuyDesign Channel Sales significantly expands the scope of strategic applications available to users of Microsoft Dynamics NAV,” says Jan Sillemann, Director, Microsoft Dynamics NAV Product Management. “The fact that it utilizes the same product configurator also available as an add-on to Microsoft Dynamics NAV delivers more value to companies that manufacture and sell customized products.” In stating the value companies can realize from using a common product configurator across multiple applications, Gartner Research VP for SMB Business Applications, Bob Anderson, says: “The opportunity to leverage a common product configurator across ERP, CRM, web and disconnected laptop applications is very important to midsize businesses because they want to centralize management of configuration models while deploying the configuration engine everywhere it’s needed.” One company that is already implementing BuyDesign Channel Sales and the product configurator with Microsoft Dynamics NAV is Sweden-based Aritco Lift AB (Aritco), a leading manufacturer of platform lifts (elevators). Aritco selected TDCI’s BuyDesign guided selling and configuration software to streamline quoting and ordering for their sales people and approximately 40 trading partners throughout Europe, Asia, and Australia.

“Simplicity is Aritco’s guiding principle, and our goal with trading partners is to maintain uncomplicated business relationships,” said Anders Adolfson, Aritco Director of Marketing. “We selected BuyDesign as our quoting and ordering system because it will greatly simplify the selling process for both Aritco and our partners, and as a result, simplify the buying process for our customers.” Microsoft Dynamics NAV VARs who have already joined TDCI’s BuyDesign partner network include Tectura, Symbiant Technologies, SCI, and ABC Computers. “We’re excited about our growing suite of offerings, and our growing customer activity, within the Microsoft Dynamics community,” said Dan DeMuth, TDCI President. “BuyDesign is now available with many of the most widely used mid-market ERP systems, including multiple solutions in the Microsoft Dynamics family, multiple Infor manufacturing and distribution solutions, and other leading ERP platforms.”
