October 22, 2010
Business First of Columbus held its annual Fast 50 awards luncheon on Wednesday. With nearly half the companies on this year’s list being technology-based companies, the Fast 50 is a testament to the continued significance of the tech community to the Central Ohio economy.
Keynote speaker was Columbus tech veteran Jeff Wilkins, founder of online pioneer CompuServe. Wilkins advised the entrepreneurs in attendance to, among other things, make use of a strong advisory board, rigorously define and continually update a strategic plan and learn to balance home and work life.
The Fast 50 recognizes those Central Ohio companies that have had the greatest average revenue growth over the past two years. Fast 50 tech companies of note included some of the region’s fastest growing startups such as CallCopy (2), ClearSaleing (10) and E-Cycle (14). Anu Resources Unlimited (11), Navigator Management Partners (20) and FastSwitch (37) were just a few of the notable technology recruiting and consulting firms recognized. Other notable tech driven Fast 50s included Xcelerate Media (21) and Ecommerce, Inc. (33). Of special note is Progressive Medical (22) which has made the Fast 50 list every year for the entire 15 years that the awards have been held.
The complete list of winners will be published in the October 22 edition of Business First.
