January 19, 2012

TechColumbus announced this week that three community leaders will be featured guests at the upcoming Innovation Awards ceremony scheduled for the evening of February 2.

Leslie H. Wexner, founder of Limited Brands, will be on hand to share how innovation has driven the success of this powerhouse brand since its founding in 1963.  He will provide attendees with insights into the importance of innovation in sustaining the success of a company from startup throughout its entire lifecycle.

Dr. E. Gordon Gee, president of The Ohio State University, will share a few thoughts on how the university harnesses the discoveries made by its researchers to shape our region and the world.

And, in honor of the year-long commemoration of the City of Columbus’ founding 200 years ago, Mayor Michael B. Coleman will help celebrate the innovations that have put the city on the map.

“We’re excited to be welcoming for the first time these community leaders to the Innovation Awards,” said Tim Haynes, interim president and CEO of TechColumbus.  “Their participation further cements the role innovation plays in creating a vibrant and sustainable economy in the Columbus Region.”
