TechColumbus is Recognized by NBIA for Incubator Leadership

Two SpringBox Labs graduates also nominated for national award.

It’s a terrific feeling when the team receives national acknowledgement for their accomplishments.

That’s how we felt yesterday upon learning that TechColumbus has been recognized as one the nation’s leaders in business acceleration by the National Business Incubation Association.

To make the announcement even sweeter, two graduates of TechColumbus’ SpringBox Labs business accelerator, Minimally Invasive Devices (MID) and nChannel, both of Columbus, were nominated for the NBIA’s Graduate of the Year Award.

Both companies were graduated from SpringBox Labs in 2013.

Minimally invasive Devices manufactures a franchise of products that solve a big, unmet need in laparoscopic surgery—frequent loss of vision. In 2013, MID closed a $9 million venture capital round; MID had been a SpringBox Labs accelerator company since 2006.

nChannel, a software company for B2B logistics and inventory management, added over 20 jobs in 2013. nChannel received seed funding from TechColumbus in 2011 and strong revenue growth attracted Series A investment led by The Ohio TechAngels Fund (OTAF). nChannel had been a TechColumbus accelerator client since 2011.

Each year, the NBIA Incubation Awards honor the business incubators, client companies, and graduates that exemplify the best in the industry.

There is no better recognition of TechColumbus’ efforts than when our client companies earn recognition for their own accomplishments.
