TechColumbus Names Tim Haynes Interim President

December 15, 2011

TechColumbus has announced that Tim Haynes, vice president for membership services and marketing, has been named interim president & CEO, effective on January 1, 2012.  The TechColumbus board is conducting a search for a permanent replacement for Ted Ford, the organization’s founding president & CEO, who announced plans to leave TechColumbus at the end of 2011.

Haynes has served as vice president of member services and marketing for TechColumbus since June 2006.  During that time, he has led the expansion of Central Ohio’s technology eco-system, including the tripling of TechColumbus membership and the development of services and programs that connect companies, entrepreneurs and professionals across the 15-county Central Ohio region.

Prior to joining TechColumbus, he spent seven years with Mettler-Toledo, a global weighing solutions and precision instrumentation company, where he served on the executive committee as president of the Retail Division from 2001 through 2006, and before that as global business unit leader for Mettler-Toledo’s global Transport, Shipping, Mail and Components business.  Prior to Mettler-Toledo, he spent seven years at Emerson in their Process Group.  He has extensive international, technology-based product development, and divisional management experience and is an electrical engineering graduate from Cornell University and an M.B.A. graduate from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

“Tim Haynes is clearly an excellent choice to lead TechColumbus as the board continues its search for a permanent leader,” said Dwight Smith, chairman of the TechColumbus Board of Directors.  “With Tim in place, TechColumbus will not miss a beat during this period of transition.”
