Use your technology skills to educate, excite and empower children and make a little cash while doing so!  TECH CORPS is hiring Technology Instructors to lead TECHie Camp summer programs in Ohio, Philadelphia, and Texas.

TECHie Camp is a full-day, week-long technology experience designed specifically for elementary and middle school students. The goal of TECHie Camp is to engage students in activities that can stimulate a deeper interest in technology; as well as provide opportunities for them to express their imaginations.  Each camp has two instructors and up to 20 students.

Position Summary: Five day camp, plus 6-8 hour training session prior to the start of camp

Dates/Time:  TECHie Camps are offered between June 6, 2011 and August 26, 2011.

Hours:  TECHie Camps run Monday – Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (Instructors arrive at 8:00am and stay no later than 6:00pm)

Salary:  Up to $1000.00/per camp (depending on total hours)

Location:  Techie Camp is offered via partnerships with colleges/universities, K-12 schools and nonprofit organizations in the following states:  Ohio, Pennsylvania,  and Texas.

The TECHie Camp Instructor will be responsible for coordinating and implementing all day-to-day aspects of the camp, including but not limited to:

-Attend training session prior to camp start date

-Familiarize and become an expert on Techie Camp tools (software & hardware)

-Review lessons/activities prior to camp and have full understanding of the curriculum in relation to students

-Have the ability to explain complex ideas to students in a language they can relate to and understand

-Create a safe classroom environment conducive to cooperative and hands-on learning

-Record camp through photos and videos, which need to be uploaded to Picasa and YouTube

-Assist students with the successful completion of lessons/activities and evaluation

-Provide feedback on the students’ experience with the overall program

-Provide TECH CORPS Ohio staff with all program and evaluation data as requested

-Perform other duties as needed for the successful implementation of the program
