TECH CORPS

Qualified instructors must demonstrate proficiency in one or more of the following areas: Programming (C++ and/or Java) and Robotics; Web Design and Content Management Systems; Graphic Arts and 2D or 3D Video Game Design

In addition, qualified job applicants should have:

Techie Camp is a full-day, week-long technology experience designed specifically for elementary and middle school students. The goal of Techie Camp is to engage students in activities that can stimulate a deeper interest in technology; as well as provide opportunities for them to express their imaginations. Each camp has two instructors and up to 20 students.

Dates/Time: Techie Camps are offered between June 6, 2011 and August 26, 2011.
Hours: Techie Camps run Monday – Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (Instructors arrive at 8:00am and stay no later than 6:00pm), and a 6-8 hour training session (May, 2011) prior to the start of camp
Salary: up to $1000.00/per camp
Location: Techie Camp is offered via partnerships with colleges/universities, K-12 schools and nonprofit organizations in the following states:  Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and District of Columbia.

The Techie Camp Instructor will be responsible for coordinating and implementing all day-to-day aspects of the camp, including but not limited to:

• Attend training session prior to camp start date
• Familiarize and become an expert on Techie Camp tools (software & hardware)
• Review lessons/activities prior to class and have full understanding of the curriculum in relation to students
• Create a safe classroom environment conducive to cooperative and hands-on learning
• Assist students with the successful completion of lessons/activities and evaluation
• Provide feedback on the students’ experience with the overall program
• Provide TECH CORPS Ohio staff with all program and evaluation data as requested
• Perform other duties as needed for the successful implementation of the program
