Hall plate lapping and polishing 2. Hall plate photolithography 3. Hall plate cleaning, dicing, and sandblasting 4. Cernox wafer sputtering 5. Cernox wafer cleaning, dicing, photolithography 6. Spacer dicing and cleaning 7. Substrates marking using Veeco 8. Assist engineering for troubleshooting process or equipment related issues 9. May perform PM with engineer or maintenance tech 10. Able to work inside clean room and follow clean room protocol. 11. Support NPI such as optical filter technology transfer 12. Able to fabricate products by following written and consistent procedures 13. Support engineering for installing and qualifying new sputtering system 14. Support engineering for retrofitting the existing hard wall clean room 15. Work related to maintenance requirements 16. Operate RIE and other vacuum systems 17. Electroplating The comprehensive Technician III Job Description is as follows: Purpose: Performs activities concerned with the assembly, test, and manufacture of quality products; assists in the design, development, and maintenance of manufacturing processes Scope: Supports manufacturing engineering in a wide range of engineering functions, including documentation, prototyping and troubleshooting; work is often non-routine requiring independent judgment Key Responsibilities: A. Follow established manufacturing procedures and processes with minimal supervision B. Assemble, test, and calibrate products requiring semi-routine and complex processes C. Prepare assemblies or sub-assemblies for release to either internal or external customers D. Complete documentation and quality records E. Control and segregate non-conforming product or materials F. Work with and have functional knowledge of the tools and instrumentation that are required to perform the assigned task, such as mechanical hand tools, precision measuring equipment, soldering equipment, handheld multi-meters, and associated scientific equipment G. Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing, data analysis, and office software tools as may be required H. Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of product, equipment, and processes I. May generate and administer parts, bill of materials, and engineering change orders into the manufacturing system J. May maintain and calibrate production and test equipment K. Assist manufacturing engineering in the upgrade, installation, and test of production equipment and processes L. Interpret the results of tests and measurements M. May possess special skillsets required to perform job function N. Demonstrate fundamental understanding of processes, product, and test equipment General Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned Follow all corporate expectations and company policies Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, Service, and Sales Maintain a safe and clean work area Competency Levels: Complexity of Work: Work is somewhat complex; consisting of semi-routine duties requiring some judgment, initiative and ingenuity, and performed independently within the limitations of established standard procedures. Involvement in Work of Others: No supervisory responsibility Supervision: Received: General supervision from Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Technical Support Manager, Operations Given: None Additional Requirements/Qualifications: Education/Experience: A two-year technical degree or equivalent experience 4+ years of applicable experience, including use of computer applications Language Skills: Ability to communicate in writing and verbally with all employees Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal or external sources Mathematical/Computer Skills: Ability to apply basic math skills including formulas and percentages Reasoning Ability: Make complex decisions requiring a significant amount of judgment Decisions may affect any or all internal departments as well as product or processes Critical Thinking: Uses logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems Physical Demands: Position may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. manually on a non-repetitive basis Use of small hand tools; walking, talking, seeing, hearing, sitting, standing, stooping and smelling Good hand to eye coordination and manual dexterity Work Environment: Manufacturing area; Engineering area Additional: The above Description represents the essential and most significant duties of this position.
