Description

TECH CORPS Ohio is now hiring Technology Instructors for its 2010 TECHie Camp summer programs.  This is an awesome opportunity to use your technology know-how to educate, excite and empower our children!

TECHie Camp Instructors will be responsible for coordinating and implementing all day-to-day aspects of TECHie Camp, a full-day, week-long technology experience designed specifically for elementary and middle school students.

Instructors are needed for TECHie Camps offered between August 2, 2010 and August 20, 2010.  Candidates can select the number of camps and camp topics they are interested in applying for.

Position Summary: Full-day, week-long camp, plus 6-8 hour training session and one hour parent’s orientation meeting
Dates/Time: August 2, 2010 and August 20, 2010.
Hours: Monday – Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (Instructors arrive at 8:00am and stay no later than 6:00pm)
Salary: $1000.00/per camp
Location: August camps are held at the TECH CORPS Ohio lab and at The Ohio State University.

Responsibilities:
The TECHie Camp Instructor will be responsible for coordinating and implementing all day-to-day aspects of the camp, including but not limited to:

  • Attend full-day, weekend training session prior to camp start date
  • Complete duties at Parent Orientation session
  • Review lessons/activities prior to class and have the ability to explain complex ideas to students in a language they can relate to and understand
  • Create a safe classroom environment conducive to cooperative and hands-on learning
  • Assist students with the successful completion of lessons/activities and evaluation
  • Provide feedback on the students’ experience with the overall program
  • Provide TECH CORPS Ohio staff with all program and evaluation data as requested
  • Perform other duties as needed for the successful implementation of the program
