Travelocity Founder to Headline First TechColumbus Innovation Summit

Terry Jones, founder of Travelocity.com, will be one of two keynote speakers at the TechColumbus Innovation Summit set for May 14th. The Innovation Summit will bring together business and technology leaders for high level discussions surrounding the importance of innovation on the region’s global competitiveness.
Jones will provide details on how innovation transformed the entire travel industry as he relates the story of how his company, Travelocity.com, literally revolutionized the way people planned, booked and paid for travel arrangements. Jones is currently managing principal of Essential Ideas, a company that helps other businesses transition to a digital economy.
The Innovation Summit will also feature Columbia Business School’s Rita Gunther McGrath as a keynote speaker. McGrath is an author and renowned speaker on the topics of strategy, innovation and growth. McGrath, who teaches in Columbia’s MBA and Executive MBA programs, is the co-author of two books including MarketBusters which has been translated into ten languages and, among other distinctions, was featured by Bill Gates at the 2006 Microsoft CEO Summit.
In addition to these two acclaimed speakers, the day-long event will feature breakout sessions exploring a number of topics impacting innovation and global competitiveness. Themes for the breakouts include: Trends in Innovation, Leading Innovation and Managing the Innovation Process. The day promises to bring lively discussions and explorations about how innovation is impacting and transforming the Central Ohio region and the businesses operating here.
The Innovation Summit is for CEOs and other executive leaders involved in strategy, technology and marketing. It’s for firms of all sizes from large to small and including startups.
